Software Engineer I

As a Software Engineer I at Troupe AI, you'll develop software solutions working closely with our Product team. This is a highly impactful role where your daily work materially moves the needle and the company's direction. You'll report directly to the Head of Engineering and work with the CEO, CPO, and full engineering team.

• Develop software solutions by working with Product to understand information and user needs, study systems flow, data usage, and work processes
• Collaborate on Github pull requests with other members of the engineering team
• Support the building of integrations that leverage data for our users and customers
• Support the building of our React frontend
• Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code
• Develop experience in natural language processing, generative AI, traditional machine learning techniques
• Learn how to use AI tools as a teammate for scaffolding code, writing tests, debugging, and exploring ideas faster
• Update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art dev tools and programming techniques

• B.A. or B.S. in computer science, information technology, or related discipline
• 1-3 years or more of experience as software engineer (FE, BE, and/or full stack), or internship as software engineer
• Comfortability with TypeScript, React JS / Next JS, Python
• Strong understanding of software development fundamentals, process, testing, and design

• AI engineering and hands-on exposure with LLMs and prompt-driven workflows
• Experience applying natural language processing, generative AI, traditional machine learning techniques
• Experience with large language model APIs, fine tuning, mini language models, custom built syntax, and agentic work flows
• Experience in a fast-paced startup environment
